Polarium Introduces Connected Batteries: Revolutionizing Fleet Management and Anti-Theft

7th May, 2025

Polarium, a leader in energy storage solutions, is proud to announce the launch of its next-generation Connected Batteries, bringing cutting-edge connectivity and advanced security features to fleet management and battery installations for the telecom industry. Polarium Batteries integrate native cellular connectivity, enabling seamless digital services directly from the cloud. With encrypted traffic data and an operator-originated VPN to the Polarium Cloud, the Connected Batteries set a new industry standard for efficiency, security, and cost-effectiveness.

Transforming Fleet Management with Remote Capabilities
The integration of cloud-based services unlocks a range of powerful remote management capabilities, allowing telecom companies to optimize their operations. The ability to provide remote support ensures quick troubleshooting and diagnostics, while remote monitoring offers real-time insights into battery health and performance. Telecom companies can also benefit from remote upgrades, enabling effortless over-the-air firmware updates. Alarm monitoring provides instant alerts for potential issues, enhancing safety and reliability. Additionally, warranty management is streamlined, ensuring that battery performance remains optimal throughout its lifecycle.

Unparalleled Anti-Theft Protection
Polarium’s Connected Batteries feature an advanced anti-theft system, leveraging multiple location technologies, including GPS, Wi-Fi, and Cell ID. The real-time battery tracking system records location history, allowing operators to monitor movement and detect unauthorized use. Geofencing capabilities enable remote activation of location-based security measures, and the remote disable functionality ensures that stolen batteries can be rendered inoperable, reducing losses. These features provide a significant reduction in costs associated with stolen batteries and enhance overall fleet security.

A Game-Changer for the Industry
Polarium’s Connected Batteries deliver tangible benefits that improve Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), safety, and operational efficiency. With remote diagnostics, telecom companies can lower maintenance costs and implement predictive maintenance strategies to prevent unexpected failures. The ability to perform firmware updates over the air reduces both costs and downtime. Improved storage time minimizes out-of-warranty expenses, while the use of non-China NMC cells offers a viable geopolitical alternative. External power connection diagnostics enhance reliability, and alarm and shutdown features help prevent overheating due to poor installation. The addition of increased LED brightness further improves visibility and usability in a variety of operational environments.

“With the launch of Connected Batteries, Polarium is empowering telecom companies with unprecedented visibility, security, and efficiency,” said Mattias Karlsson, EVP Business Area Telecom at Polarium. “This innovative solution not only reduces operational costs but also enhances safety and reliability across industries.”
