Polarium Expands Within Light Industry with Two New Contracts
26th April, 2023This year, Polarium will install smart Energy Optimization Systems at two facilities in Sweden: one for Lindberg & Son, specializing in recycling of metals, and Grönlunds Plåt, a thin sheet metals specialist. With these installations, Polarium expands within the light industrial segment.
Since its founding in 2015, Polarium has been on a mission to unlock endless energy by developing safe, smart, and sustainable energy storage solutions built on lithium-ion battery technology. The company’s origins lie in providing reserve power for the global telecom industry. Since 2021, the company is shifting into high gear to capture an even larger share of the rapidly expanding energy storage market – by moving up the value chain and expanding within new market segments.

In times of high and volatile electricity prices, energy storage can play a crucial part in flattening price curves by distributing load more evenly throughout the day. Polarium’s energy storage solutions enable customers to secure reserve power by maintaining uptime and avoiding blackouts, reduce energy costs by avoiding price peaks, create new revenue streams through participation in the frequency regulation market, and establish energy independence by maximizing the opportunity of renewable production. In both installations, the Polarium Energy Optimization Systems will be ready for integration with EV-charging and solar panels.

The Polarium Energy Optimization System at Grönlunds Plåt in Skara will have a capacity of 942 kWh Energy Optimization System whilst the Energy Optimization System at Lindberg & Son in Gävle will have a capacity of 700 kWh. Both systems will offer FCR and FFR services to the Swedish Electricity Transmission System Operator, Svenska Kraftnät.
