Anna Kinberg Batra and Carola Puusteli Join Polarium’s Board of Directors

7th December, 2021

Polarium is pleased to announce that Anna Kinberg Batra and Carola Puusteli are to join the company as investors and board members.

”With their extensive experience and insight, Anna and Carola will play a key role in Polarium’s continued growth journey. We share a desire to think big, lead the way, and contribute to a smarter and more sustainable world.” says Stefan Jansson, CEO and founder of Polarium.

Since its founding in 2015, Polarium has focused on providing sustainable energy storage solutions built on lithium-ion technology for telecom, manufacturing and commercial real estate. By combining high-quality batteries with a smart and connected technical platform enabling more optimized energy consumption, the company helps its customers reduce their energy costs and carbon footprint.

Kinberg Batra is former leader of the Swedish Moderate Party, and has broad political experience from all levels of politics, from local to international, including the European People’s Party and the International Democratic Union. She also has business experience from SSE Business Lab and was on the founding teams of Jobline/Monster and Nova Talent. Since leaving politics, Kinberg Batra has been active as an investor and board member, focusing on sustainability, future energy systems, and technological innovation. Outside Polarium, she chairs Soltech Energy Sweden and the Swedish Solar Power Association, and sits on the boards of directors of Castellum, Cinis Fertilizer, and the Swedish Space Corporation.

“The world needs a major green transition. This is high on the political agenda but driven by private business and investments. This is where Polarium brings energy, technology, and entrepreneurship together to empower a sustainable world. I’m inspired by the entrepreneurship and leadership of Polarium and look forward to joining the next phase of the company’s development,” says Kinberg Batra.

Carola Puusteli has more than 30 years’ experience in strategic business development. She is Power Generation Segment VP at Schneider Electric and has previous experience as an entrepreneur, having started five companies in four different markets, as well as working in business development for ABB and Schneider Electric. She is also on the board of directors of Halton Group (Finland) and Interpartner (Denmark).

“Polarium has built a market leading position extremely quickly by helping their customers increase their sustainability and profitability. I am impressed by the job Stefan and the rest of the team have done so far, and I look forward to being part of the next chapter: scaling up the company and enabling sustainable energy worldwide,” says Puusteli.

Kinberg Batra and Puusteli will join Polarium as board members as well as investors.

“Anna and Carola will be a great addition to Polarium and contribute to our continued journey with their extensive and wide-ranging experience: Anna with local and international political and entrepreneurship experience; and Carola’s track record in business and global innovation organizations. Their shared customer focus, vision for greater use of sustainable energy, and keen interest in people and cultures are huge bonuses,” Jansson adds.

Kent Sander and John Peter Leesi are to step down from the Polarium board. The board and Polarium’s major shareholders would like to thank Kent and John Peter for their invaluable contribution to Polarium’s recent growth and development.
